The position is located in Westminster and is of a two week shadowing process with the aim of learning the skills required to work in Parliament. If you have any web skills please mention them in your CV and covering letter.

Observable tasks/responsibilities:
• dealing with correspondence and enquiries from constituents and independent groups/bodies
• data management
• diary management
• conducting research
• provide briefings and potential questions/EDMs to put to the House
• IT skills
• Speech writing and press releases

Those who took part last year have gone on to secure interviews and gain employment.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
