Mary Honeyball, Labour MEP for London, is recruiting a parliamentary assistant to join her team in Brussels. The successful applicant will focus in particular on the work of the Parliament’s Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) Committee.
Key duties:
- Managing a busy office and providing administrative support. This will include diary management, event organisation and liaison with the UK office.
- Following and providing briefings on the work of the FEMM Committee.
- Carrying out research for reports, legislative amendments, speeches, parliamentary questions, and constituent queries.
- Attending meetings on Ms Honeyball’s behalf as required.
Applicants should have:
- Strong organisational, IT and administrative skills, and the ability to manage and prioritise own workload.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of working as part of a small team.
- Commitment to the aims of the Labour Party, an interest in women’s rights issues, and a sound knowledge of British politics.
Knowledge of French would be an advantage but is not essential.

Interview/Start Dates
Interviews will be held in central London on 5th and 6th of September. Those who are successful at this stage will be invited to a second interview on 16th September.
