My Generation is looking for a graduate intern to work on our education programme and provide admin support to the organisation. This role will be part-time: 24 hours every week, ideally covering 3 days a week.

This role will be split between our education projects and admin tasks:

* MGM - our mentoring programme that partners local young people with undergraduate mentors at Oxford University. You will assist the project manager in running this initiative, which will include visits to Oxford, building relationships with local schools, offering admin support for the project, and supporting the mentors and mentees as may be required.

* Step Up - is a pupil mentoring and life-skills training programme that targets behaviour, underachievement and motivation in local schools. Tailor made to suit the school's requirements, the MyGeneration team meets with secondary school pupils for 14 - 20 hours. This project enables them to develop their self esteem, work in a team, follow instructions, use initiative, problem solving, develop social skills and conflict resolution skills. You will help the youth worker to run this programme and be involved in promoting it to local schools.

* General admin support - assisting the My Generation team by providing administrative support. You must have good computer skills, good telephone skills, and keep on top of various admin tasks, including filing, diary management and database entry.

You must have be enthusiastic about working with young people and have strong administrative skills. You will be confident, hardworking, creative, organised, a self-starter and able to work in a team. You must be a graduate. Experience of work in disadvantaged communities is preferable but not essential.

We are looking for someone who can commit to this role for at least 9 months, to start middle of October.

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews will take place during the week beginning 3rd October. The successful applicant will start as soon after that date as possible.
