Rob Wilson MP is looking for a full-time intern for his busy constituency office in Caversham, Reading.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate who is looking for a firm grounding in working for an MP. The candidate should be able to commit to a three month internship where a reference will be provided on successful completion. Ideally you would be available to work 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, although as this is a voluntary position hours can be negotiated around other commitments.

We are also looking for part-time interns to work full or half days once a week, these positions would be suited to college or university students seeking work experience or looking to support the work of their local MP.  

Responsibilities will be varied and include:

Assisting the team with the day-to-day working of the office such as filing and posting correspondence.
Accompanying constituency staff and the Member of Parliament to meetings.
Assisting with the preparation of press releases and media briefings.
Assisting with constituency and policy correspondence.

The successful candidate should have:

Strong inter-personal and communication skills, both written and oral.
Good organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and to meet deadlines.
The ability to work in a sensitive and confidential manner.
