Chris Heaton-Harris's Westminster office is seeking an enthusiastic, bright individual to work as an intern on a voluntary basis for 3 days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays).  The position will commence on Tuesday 8 November 2011 and finish on Thursday 9 February 2012.

The main responsibilities of the role will include scanning and filing casework correspondence, maintaining the contacts database and general administrative tasks.  No experience is required, although a good understanding of Outlook, Word and Excel is necessary, together with an excellent telephone manner.  The successful candidate will have a keen interest in politics and current affairs and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
