Job Details

Think Africa Press is a news analysis and commentary website. Bringing together writers from across Africa with international experts, Think Africa Press aims to provide greater depth, context and analysis to standard news coverage. The website covers a range of topics on Africa, from politics to the environment to culture, and our articles aim to be rigorous and well-argued yet at the same time accessible to the intelligent lay person.

We are looking for a motivated, conscientious and creative individual to work directly with our editor-in-chief. The successful applicant will be given real journalistic experience in a vibrant online news environment and the chance to make a genuine contribution to our online content. He/she will help research, plan and coordinate our day-to-day content and work on longer-term projects as well as help manage our social media presences. There will also be the opportunity to pitch and write articles for the website.

Applicants are not required to have studied specific subjects although relevant degrees will be useful. All interns will be expected to have a proven interest in African affairs and intelligent journalism, and be able to think analytically about African news events and issues.

Applicants need to be able to commit for at least 3 days a week for a minimum of one month, although ideally for longer.
