Contract length – until June 2014.

The London Borough of Brent Labour Group are looking to recruit a full time organiser to facilitate its continued campaign work and build on the results achieved in the London elections in May 2012.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the organisation of all front line campaigning in the borough. It is expected that he/she will work closely with all 40 Labour councillors and as well as the borough’s Labour MPs, Assembly Member and local party officers.

The nature of the role will vary according to political and campaigning priorities. The successful applicant will be self-motivated and able to work independently, while being flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

Applicants should also have a good knowledge of Labour Party campaigning techniques and a proven ability in the following areas:

 Organising campaigning activity and events with the Labour Party or another organisation
 Motivating groups of volunteers and workers
 Excellent written and communication skills
 Excellent IT skills
 Working to deadlines and in a pressured environment
 Organising own workload
 An understanding and commitment to Labour Party values
