Job Title:
APPG Intern
Working For:
Westminster City Council
Location:
London
Salary:
National Minimum Wage

Job Details:

The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Local Growth, Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and Enterprise Zones is conducting an inquiry into the effectiveness of LEPs to date in creating the conditions for sustainable local economic growth and private sector job growth. The call for evidence/terms of reference for the inquiry can be found at http://www.lepnetwork.org.uk/appg-on-local-growth-invites-evidence-for-inquiry-into-the-effectiveness-of-leps.html.

Westminster City Council provides the secretariat to the APPG and is looking to recruit an intern to assist with gathering and analysing evidence submissions from LEPs, businesses, local authorities, interest groups, senior officials and others. The internship will run for 7 weeks from late July until early September 2012 and is on a part time basis (two days per week). The role offers a chance to gain exposure to Parliamentary processes and to senior policymakers, to gain expertise in a relatively new and little analysed area, and to contribute to a report which will receive attention in Parliament and by government.

Closing Date:
11 July 2012

Interview/Start Dates:

Start date: week beginning Monday 30 July 2012 for seven weeks.

How to apply:

Applicants should send their CV (no more than two pages) with a covering letter (no more than one page) to Majeed Neky at mneky@westminster.gov.uk.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by telephone. Unfortunately we are unable to write to unsuccessful candidates and, if you have not heard from us by 11 July 2012, you should assume that, regrettably, you have not been successful on this occasion.
