The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Local Growth, Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and Enterprise Zones is conducting an inquiry into the effectiveness of LEPs to date in creating the conditions for sustainable local economic growth and private sector job growth. The call for evidence/terms of reference for the inquiry can be found at http://www.lepnetwork.org.uk/appg-on-local-growth-invites-evidence-for-inquiry-into-the-effectiveness-of-leps.html.
Westminster City Council provides the secretariat to the APPG and is looking to recruit an intern to assist with gathering and analysing evidence submissions from LEPs, businesses, local authorities, interest groups, senior officials and others. The internship will run for 7 weeks from late July until early September 2012 and is on a part time basis (two days per week). The role offers a chance to gain exposure to Parliamentary processes and to senior policymakers, to gain expertise in a relatively new and little analysed area, and to contribute to a report which will receive attention in Parliament and by government.
