Established in 1996, Teen Spirit is a unique service that addresses the needs of young people living with and affected by HIV. A wide range of innovative and creative programmes support physical, mental and emotional health and well-being. It’s a vital lifeline for an isolated and often forgotten group of young people who are struggling to live with the direct and indirect effects of HIV.
An internship in the Teen Spirit Service provides the opportunity to gain high quality work experience relevant to Youth Work, Teaching or Social Work. Teen Spirit provides an environment where you can build up knowledge, skills and confidence. The role is designed to provide active learning in areas of group/individual support work, programme research and design, workshop facilitation on a broad range of issues, project management and much more….
Body & Soul internships are dynamic and exciting, providing the opportunity to become involved in areas of the charity which would normally require greater experience. Because Body & Soul is a grass-roots organisation, the opportunity to see the way a charity is run on a day to day basis are greater – interns can see the services we offer first hand and gain valuable experience working directly with our members.
Interns are provided with training, support, supervision. We offer weekly 'Intern Masterclasses' run each week by a different member of the Body & Soul staff team - these give you the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of key aspects of the charity sector.
