Job Details
The Zambia and Malawi APPG is seeking an intern to assist with the organisation of events and delegations, conducting research and in communicating the work of the group.
Established in September 2011, the APPG promotes good UK relations with both Zambia and Malawi. It works to educate UK Parliamentarians about the two countries.
Working under the direction of the group's Co-Chairs, this will offer the opportunity to work in Parliament alongside MPs and Lords. It will involve liaising with stakeholders including Government Departments, Diplomats, NGOs and corporates.
The position will be of interest to candidates with an affinity to the countries covered, an interest in international development or foreign policy, or wanting to gain experience of working in Parliament.
Demonstration of good written and verbal communication skills, ability to conduct research and experience of event management are considered essential.
A demonstrable interest and knowledge of either Zambia or Malawi is preferred.
The role is flexible in terms of hours required and duration. This would be discussed at interview stage.
As the APPG is independent and therefore unfunded, we regret that offering reimbursement is not possible.
Closing Date: 3 September 2012
Interview/Start Dates
Interview dates by arrangement.
