International Alert’s UK peacebuilding programme develops research, dialogue and advocacy to better understand the risks to the resilience and stability of local communities in the UK. We work with communities, policy makers and practitioners to promote good practice that builds community resilience and helps manage tension.

You will be responsible for the implementation and development of Alert’s UK peacebuilding programme. Alongside managing existing projects you will work together with colleagues and partners to develop a strong advocacy voice on peace and conflict issues. You will have the ability to take the outputs of research and analysis to craft and communicate key messages to targeted audiences in both government and non-governmental spheres. You will be able to develop innovative programming ideas and fundraise to consolidate and expand our UK work.

With a degree in a relevant discipline you will have experience dealing with conflict affected communities in the UK and/or other countries dealing with conflict, development, and/or humanitarian issues along with excellent knowledge of community cohesion and conflict trends in the UK.

As it is unlikely that we will be able to obtain a Work Permit for this role, all job applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
