About the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF)
The EEF is an independent grant-making charity dedicated to raising the attainment of disadvantaged pupils in English primary and secondary schools by challenging educational disadvantage, sharing evidence and finding out what works.

Founded in 2011 by the education charity the Sutton Trust, as lead charity in partnership with Impetus Trust, the EEF is funded by a £125m grant from the Department for Education. With investment and fundraising income, the EEF intends to award as much as £200m over the 15-year life of the Foundation.

The EEF’s vision is to break the link between family background and educational achievement, ensuring that pupils from all backgrounds have the opportunity to fulfil their aspirations and make the most of their talents.

Overall responsibilities
The EEF is looking to recruit a Media and Research Intern to join its small team in its Westminster office. The role will encompass a range of duties, including:

  • Providing general and administrative support to the EEF team;
  • Assisting with the development of video and other content for the EEF website;
  • Researching potential educational funders;
  • Undertaking other duties which may from time to time be requested.

Person specification
You will be joining a small and focused team. You will be enthusiastic, inquisitive and able to use your initiative.

Experience/qualifications
• Essential: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Essential: Experience filming and editing videos.
• Essential: Strong IT skills.
• Desirable: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Initial interviews will be held in the week beginning 15th October 2012.

The post will start on 22nd October 2012.
