The Work Foundation, part of Lancaster University, is the leading independent, international authority on work and its future, influencing policy and practice for the benefit of society. We are now seeking talented researchers and research assistants to join our Big Innovation Centre and Socio-Economic Centre as we expand the capacity of our new programmes.

The Big Innovation Centre aims to position Britain as a global hub for open innovation in order to grow and rebalance the UK economy, with a focus on sustainability, health, and digital networks. We are seeking a researcher with knowledge of economics, management or applied social science in the world of business and policy. Knowledge of either health economics or a related area of innovation is desirable. This post also requires strong quantitative and/or qualitative applied research skills and the ability to interrogate and analyse data.

The Socio-Economic Centre is seeking a researcher with experience in research or policy in the areas of labour markets, skills, cities or economic change. The researcher will produce high quality research which impacts on policy and practice. Knowledge and experience of current policy agendas are important. This post also requires strong applied research skills and the ability to develop implications for policy and practice based on a robust evidence base. Business development experience would also be an advantage.

Both Centres are also seeking a research assistant with good research skills, knowledge of the key research areas along with an interest in current policy agendas, and the ability to work with quantitative data.
