What you will be doing:

The core of the role will be reading think tank reports, developing new ideas, and turning them into pithy, powerful written work.

There is also an increasing amount of corporate strategy work in the team – assessing new sectors, new trends, and being able to read their significance, and make appropriate recommendations for change in the firm. Do not worry if you do not have a background in business studies, economics or finance. We will teach you what you need to know. What we are interested in is if you can bring fresh thinking and graft to our team.

Some of the work will be relatively directed: you might be given a set of pointers and asked how an idea could be worked up into a fully-fledged paper for publication. It will not always be glamorous: you will not always be able to make every meeting, and sometimes the bulk of your work will be subsumed into larger pieces which the team as a whole is working on.

However, what you will build is an excellent understanding of how to tackle the big social challenges of today. A4e prides itself on its thought leadership, and the work you will be doing is at the absolute cutting-edge of creative government anywhere in the world. And once you are ready, you will be encouraged and coached to develop your own policy recommendations and innovations.

You will work directly with the Chief Executive, Management Board and founders of the business.

You will also have frequent, direct contact with civil servants, ministers, think tankers, charities and columnists.
