Claire Perry MP (PPS to the Secretary of State for Defence) is offering a full-time internship for three months (with the potential to be extended) in her busy Westminster office.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, friendly individual who is looking for experience of working in Parliament and an MP’s office, with a keen interest in politics.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Parliamentary Team in the day-to-day working of the office;
- General Administration;
- Assisting with policy correspondence;
- Research.
The successful candidate should have:
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills, both written and oral;
- Good organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work independently;
- The ability to work in a sensitive and confidential manner;
- Good IT skills (experience with CMITs software would be preferable but not essential).
Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
