The Children's Society are looking for a Policy and Parliamentary Assistant to play an active role in the day to day work of the Policy and Public Affairs Team. The role will provide efficient specialist support to both internal and external stakeholders regarding the team’s activity, provide administrative support and act as the initial point of contact for enquiries.
The role will provide specific support to the Public Affairs Manager in communicating The Children’s Society’s research findings, policy positions and the views of children and young people professionally and consistently with parliamentarians and other political stakeholders.
Typical tasks include:
- To support the Public Affairs Manager in communicating and liaising with parliamentarians and other political stakeholders.
- To provide efficient administrative and office support, including: organising meetings, financial administration, developing and maintaining administrative and information systems and updating internal staff of the teams’ activities.
- Coordinate external and internal communications on behalf of the team as well as support, maintain and update the Policy intranet and website pages.
- To support the running of the APPG for Runaway and Missing Children and Adults.
- To work with children and young people to enable them to have a voice and influence in our work.

Qualifications
- Educated to ‘A’ Level or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.
