The Richmond (Yorks) Conservative Association is looking to recruit a volunteer intern to work in the Campaign Office during the coming months. The successful applicant will gain first-hand experience in a busy Campaign Centre in the run up to May 2013 County Council Elections and undertake a variety of tasks to support the team. The successful applicant will gain an insight into the production of campaign materials, the function and organisation of election campaigns, the management and organisation of volunteers and activists and much more. The successful applicant will also gain experience of working in a busy political office environment, with numerous deadlines and fast changing priorities. This position will provide an excellent opportunity for candidates to enhance their CVs and attain varied and valuable political and office based experience.

The specific tasks undertaken will vary; they will include, but not be limited to:

-Production of campaign materials

-Literature distribution & other campaign activities

-Liaising with Councillors and volunteers

-Data entry and administration tasks

-Other tasks to support the work of the campaign teams

 As such the ideal candidate will:

-Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Be self-motivated

-Have excellent attention to detail

-Be IT literate

-Have knowledge of, and sympathy for, the aims and policies of the Conservative Party
