Martin Horwood is looking for an enthusiastic and diligent intern to join his Westminster office. The successful candidate will be a proactive individual who is able to demonstrate strong research, communication and organisation skills. Sympathy with the Liberal Democrats and a keen interest in international affairs is desirable.

Responsibilities will be varied and include:

  • Accompanying Westminster staff and the Member of Parliament to meetings
  • Conducting research, and assisting with the preparation of briefings
  • Assisting the team with the day-to-day working of the office such as filing and posting correspondence, and coordinating events

The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, both written and oral. They will have good organisational skills, and will be able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
