PoliticsHome.com, the leading political news site, is offering the opportunity of a three-month internship (expenses only) in our growing news team.
Launched in 2008, PoliticsHome provides comprehensive, up-to the minute coverage of all aspects of British politics, seven days a week.
This is a unique chance for an aspiring political journalist to gain real work experience in the heart of Westminster.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
- The ability to write well, quickly and concisely
- An excellent level of UK political knowledge
- Familiarity with the leading political opinion-formers and commentators
- A good instinct for spotting breaking news and fresh developments
- The ability to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines
Candidates should also be flexible on working hours which will include some early mornings and weekends.
The role being advertised is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours and responsibilities and you should be free to come and go as you wish. If the post demands set hours and/or has a specific job description you may be deemed to be a ‘worker’ and be covered by National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage legislation.
