The Coordinator/Administrator plays an essential role in the 'day-to-day' running of the organisation, working with directly with RAW in WAR board members on project related matters, capacity building, development strategies and fundraising, and is primarily responsible for the coordination of the Anna Politkovskaya Award held every October. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate interested in the human rights field who wishes to gain experience and be part of a unique and exciting NGO. Although this is not a full time role, flexibility is required, especially in the run up to the Anna Politkovskaya event where extras days of work (fully paid) will be required including the occasional evenings and weekends.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Manage all the 'day to day' administrative aspects of the organisation including communication, coordinating board and team meetings, working directly with the board on project related matters, providing monthly progress reports on work and future actions;
- Coordinating and Supervising volunteers and interns;
- Assist in the preparation of funding applications, reports and budgets;
- Basic Website updates (training will be provided) and updating social networks;
- Assisting in the preparation and the follow up of the Anna Politkovskaya Award including, communicating with venue staff, coordinating a team of volunteers, liaise with other key RAW people and keep them updated with progress;
- Perform other related tasks as required.

RAW in WAR aims to support women human rights defenders working in areas of war and conflict, including “forgotten conflict”, where there is limited or no support from major humanitarian agencies and organizations. RAW in WAR aims to strengthen their work, as well as to help end abuse and persecution against them. Mariana Katzarova founded RAW in WAR in 2006, after working as a journalist and human rights advocate in the war zones of Bosnia, Kosovo and Chechnya, including 10 years as the Russia Researcher for Amnesty International.
