Who we are:
The Open Rights Group is a non-profit organisation that campaigns to defend freedom of expression, privacy, innovation, consumer rights and creativity on the internet.
The purpose of this role is to support the marketing and organisation of our annual conference, both in the run up and on the day.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Writing website and email copy
- Supporting ORG's social media promotion of the event
- Producing mail shots and other offline promotion
- Dealing with event queries
- Assisting with the smooth running and set up of the event on the day
Skills required:
- Strong organisational skills
- Good time management
- Happy to work independently
- Excellent proof-reading and copy-writing skills
- Some experience in web editing (eg HTML, CSS)
- Interest in issues relating to digital rights (including free speech, data protection, privacy, open data, etc)
- Proactive and energetic
This is a great opportunity to get involved with the UK's biggest digital freedoms conference.
The position is for two days a week for two months. You may be required to work more than 2 days on occasion. You will be working from our office in London.
