The internship will provide the candidate with comprehensive knowledge of the work of an MP, experience of a working environment and a unique opportunity to develop highly marketable administrative, research and communication skills.
Ultimately, we aim to provide the successful candidate with meaningful work experience that enhances their employability and skills.
The internship is suitable for a gap year student, undergraduate or a recent graduate with an interest in British domestic politics.
The ideal candidate will:
- be willing to learn;
- have good organisational and time management skills;
- have good interpersonal skills;
- be able to perform in a team;
- be sympathetic to Conservative Party values.
Full guidance and training will be provided throughout.
To get the most out of this opportunity we would ask applicants to be available for one Parliamentary session (approximately 3 months).
This is a full-time position.
Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
