Volunteering for a resident led community organisation with a large membership and larger potential membership. We seek a hardworking honest individual, who is interested in the social sciences, law or research; has an understanding of public policy and wants to make a constructive contribution to public policy. Knowledge of the Welfare Reform Act 2012 or Housing policy will be an advantage. We are based in Southwark.
We offer a challenging role that will help develop your research skills and the opportunity to engage with important community stakeholders.
You will have the opportunity to develop valuable qualitative and quantitative research techniques, as well as the opportunity to present data.
In addition to the duties mentioned below the successful candidate will undertake a research task in a specific policy area to be agreed with candidate after interview.
The successful research candidate will assist the Campaigns and Research Officer to:
• carry out extensive desk research, including field research within the borough of Southwark;
• complete Research project;
• online research;
• conducting surveys;
• assist with preparing meetings;
• assist with event planning;
• liaise with external agencies;
• uploading content on to website;
• contributing to a blog.
Campaigns Officer
The successful candidate will assist the Campaigns and Research Officer to
• design campaign documents;
• plan campaign strategy;
• distribute campaign literature;
• conducting surveys;
• assist with preparing meetings;
• assist with event planning;
• liaise with external agencies;
• uploading content on to website;
• contributing to a blog.
