Job Details
Our vision is a world where the work and knowledge of local peacebuilders is central to all strategies for managing conflict. We’re currently looking for a dynamic intern to help develop our Insight on Conflict website (www.insightonconflict.org). We would like someone able to help us both create new content for the site, and also reach a broader audience. The role will include finding and commissioning writers, editing text copy, making site updates and writing background text on conflict-related issues.
The ideal candidate should have previous experience in blogging or website editing, have excellent journalistic writing and editing skills and a demonstrable interest in peacebuilding or the development sector. The role is ideal for someone wishing to gain broad experience of working in a dynamic NGO, and enhance their knowledge of conflict and peacebuilding, as well as getting hands-on experience working on a busy website.
For this role, flexibility, commitment, initiative and the ability to work in a small team are also important. Experience of marketing and foreign languages (particularly French or Spanish) would be great, but is not essential.
We can be flexible about exact timings, but the intern needs to commit to working with us part-time, for at least 3 months. The position is unpaid though local travel and lunch expenses are paid.

The role being advertised is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours and responsibilities and you should be free to come and go as you wish.
