The Aegis Trust is the UK’s leading genocide prevention NGO, with a major presence in the UK and Rwanda. Its youth and student arm, Aegis Students, works to inspire and equip young people to campaign and educate against genocide and mass atrocities worldwide.

This is a varied role working directly with the Aegis Students National Coordinator to plan and prepare all Aegis Students’ activities for the next academic year.

The successful applicant will be truly involved in the day-to-day running of Aegis Students for their time as an intern and may be involved with event organisation, public speaking, policy research, campaign coordination, copy writing, social media, admin and marketing.

The role will be very hands-on and will give the successful applicant the chance to gain experience and greater understanding of advocacy campaigning, educating against prejudice and working for an international NGO.

The position runs for 3 months, it will require 2 days per week and is based in Aegis’ London office.

Required skills and characteristics:

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in the aims and activities of Aegis Students and the Aegis Trust
  • Entrepreneurial outlook, and an ability to work under own initiative

NB: The advertised role is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours and responsibilities and the successful candidate will be free to attend as she/he wishes.
