CAMRA’s Public Affairs team is recruiting a Campaigns Assistant Intern for a 6-month period. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and contribute to a small busy team within a successful campaigning organisation. Your primary role will be to help organise CAMRA’s presence at Party Conference Season 2013 alongside contributing to a range of campaigning and political activity. CAMRA is seeking someone who is very practical, creative, hard working and organised.

Job Description

● Assist with organising CAMRA’s presence at this year’s Party Conference Season including developing an exhibition stand, promotional campaigning material, fringe events and receptions
● Attend and represent CAMRA at the Labour Party Conference, Liberal Democrat Conference and Conservative Party Conference
● Update and develop content on CAMRA’s website and campaigning microsites, including writing and uploading blog posts and news items communicating our campaigns
● Help with the Campaign Team’s communications with CAMRA’s membership including campaigning emails, developing campaigning material and writing and uploading social media
● Help to plan, administer and evaluate campaigning activity
● Handle queries from CAMRA members and carry out everyday office administration
● Assist with CAMRA’s Parliamentary activity including supporting CAMRA’s role as secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Save the Pub Group

Job Specification

Essential:
● Educated to degree level
● Keen and demonstrable interest in campaigning
● Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills
● Some evidence of organising events
● Strong attention to detail in all areas of work
● Willing to show initiative
● A good team player
● Dedicated and hard-working
● Professional and well-presented
● Exceptional written and visual communication skills, which can be adapted for both formal and campaigns communications
● Good all-round grasp of computer skills including Microsoft Office, social media, and basic ability to use Content Management Systems

Desirable:
● An interest in pubs and real ale
● Experience of working or volunteering in a campaigning environment

Closing Date: 17 June 2013

Interview/Start Dates

Closing date: Monday 17th June, 5pm.
Interviews will be held on Friday 21st June.
The full-time position is expected to start on Monday 1st July.
