Westco Trading Limited is a company owned by the City of Westminster. It was established in 2008 to trade the very best of Westminster City Council services and skills with others in the public and private sector. The Westco Research and Customer Insight team is looking to recruit talented individuals to join us in the delivery of a number of market research projects.

Based in Victoria Street you will join Westco for a six month contract with the possibility to extend. Your job will be to work within the Research team to support them in the projects that they are undertaking. This will include a full range of techniques from managing public opinion research to public forums and focus groups. Other members of the Research team will support you as needed for individual projects. This role is the equivalent of a Research Assistant, Trainee or Intern and is suitable for someone just starting out in market research. We would accept applications from recent graduates.

The team will be led by the award winning Research and Customer Insight team within Westminster City Council. The team has won research awards from PR Week, AMEC and CIPR. It is regarded as a national leader in both local government research and more generally in the market research and media evaluation industries.

You will be part of a team with a national reputation, and can expect the career advancement to go with that. Although the role is based at a particular office, we will expect our staff to be flexible in where they work. It may be we require you to help colleagues in another local authority occasionally.

What we are looking for: A confident individual with an interest in social research. Confidence in handling both quantitative and qualitative data would be an advantage.
