Job Details
Help produce seminars on energy, environment and transport policy that make headlines and move forward thinking on some of the most important live policy issues. Biodiversity and adapting to climate change; the road and rail networks; smart homes, cities and grids; reforms to electricity, water and carbon trading markets; planning and local democracy; the automotive, aviation and other industries; renewables; nuclear energy; and the Green Investment Bank are all areas where the Forum is organising conferences.
This could be a new challenge for a recent graduate or for a quick learner with some work experience who can demonstrate both the passion and practical focus to achieve our mission of providing policymakers with the context to make best decisions. It's demanding but rewarding work in a company that is commercially focused and expanding, but with a strong ethical heart.
Our events are constructive, inclusive, challenging and strictly impartial. They are important occasions for policymakers in Parliament and Whitehall; for professionals working in the sectors; for consumers, communities, environmentalists and the groups that represent their interests; for academics, journalists and commentators; and for a wide range of businesses that serve the energy, environment and transport sectors together with their financial, public affairs and legal advisors.
The Researcher is part of a small team working on all aspects of event production, including following latest policy developments and news from the sector; researching issues, possible speakers and contacts; drafting agendas and promotional text for the seminars; as well as liaising with speakers and our Parliamentary chairs. They also attend and contribute to the smooth operation of our seminars and receptions held in the Westminster area.
There's a high degree of fast-paced multi-tasking but support from the Forum's Producer and rest of the 70-strong team is always on hand. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills and will be quick to learn.
Based in a lively, friendly office with convenient rail and road links in Bracknell, Berkshire, and with occasional work in Westminster.
