This post is funded until 31 Mar 2014, with potential for repeat funding.

This role is to be a member of the Kent Consumer Empowerment Partnership team.

The job involves:

  • Researching consumer issues gathered from other Citizens Advice Bureaux, other advice agencies and the public.
  • Campaigning to influence policy makers and effect change.
  • Educating the public through social media, the KCEP website, leaflets and group workshops so that citizens know their rights and how to seek effective redress.
  • Presenting to community forums to publicise the work of the CEP and consumer matters.
  • Working with advice agencies, Kent Trading Standards and other organisations acrossKent.

Skills for the role:

  • Enthusiasm to engage with the public, other organisations and the online community.
  • Strong IT, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the CAB service and consumer matters desirable but not essential.
  • Willingness to travel to events across Kent.
  • Car driver preferred but not essential.
  • Comfortable using social media tools.
