The Advertising Association represents all sides of the advertising industry: advertisers, agencies, and media owners. Our remit is to promote and protect the role, rights, and responsibilities of advertising in the UK – a £17bn industry. We are seeking an outstanding candidate for a 6 month paid public affairs and communications internship at our Westminster offices.

The responsibilities of the Public Affairs and Communications Intern will include:
• Undertaking research for AA staff and members;
• Political monitoring and engagement;
• Helping to organise stakeholder meetings;
• Contacting relevant parliamentarians, journalists, and political influencers;
• Monitoring, selecting and disseminating news feeds;
• Helping to organise a Parliamentary reception;
• Creating and developing web content;
• General administration tasks including reception and answering telephones.

Candidate Specification:
• A demonstrable passion for politics, the media, and public affairs;
• A thoughtful, creative and resourceful character;
• An ability to take initiative and work without close supervision;
• A track record of producing excellent research and written materials;
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills;
• A flexible, can-do attitude and a desire to learn from and work with a small, friendly team;
• Minimum intermediate Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel proficiency.
