IPPR is looking for an intern to work in its public services team. The intern will work primarily on projects related to social work and health policy.

Tasks will include providing general research and administrative support to projects, arranging and undertaking interviews and focus groups, and assisting with the writing of reports.

Job Duties:

• Provide research support
• Conduct focused literature reviews
• Arranging meetings and seminars
• Assisting with the analysis and presentation of secondary data
• Assist in arranging, running and analysing qualitative research such as telephone interviews, focus groups and in-depth interviews
• Providing administrative support, such as maintaining databases, records and general support for other staff at IPPR
• Assist with writing research reports

Essential Skills:

• Demonstrated knowledge of one or more aspects of UK social policy
• Some understanding of the policy making process within UK politics
• Proven research and literature review skills
• Excellent qualitative research skills
• Good numeracy and analytical skills with the ability to present and analyse data using Excel
• Good writing skills with the ability to write for a variety of audiences
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines
• Ability to use own initiative and contribute new ideas
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
• A commitment to IPPR’s values
