Job Title: Management Trainees
Working For: Good Futures, a Vanilla venture
Salary: Circa £18,000 per annum. Upon successfully completing year one of the programme, salaries will be increased accordingly circa £22,000 per annum
Good Futures is a 2-3 year professional development programme which aims to fast track talented people from diverse backgrounds into frontline service delivery in the non-profit sector and subsequently into service management. It is a collaboration between Vanilla and three charitable organisations (Family Action, Terrence Higgins Trust, and Thera Group), and will pilot this year by placing our first cohort of 12 trainees into frontline services in England.
The programme has been designed to give trainees access to frontline experience combined with professional and management development. It aims to ensure progression by enabling participants to work across their organisation, and by making the most of a strong peer group and powerful professional networks. Trainees will experience a 2/3 year journey involving 3 phases during which they will be encouraged to own their own journey and discover new ideas. At the end of Years 1 and 2 the formal part of the programme, involving among other things the completion of the Health and Social Care Diploma Level 3, will end, and the focus will shift to preparing trainees to apply for first level management jobs in their organisation through a mixture of coaching and mentoring.
We are looking for applicants who want to work in frontline service delivery in the charity sector and believe they can become future managers of those services. We are looking for people with the right motivations and attitude and will place a higher value on these attributes than experience. Applicants will strive to achieve better outcomes for service users, be willing to grow and be prepared to challenge as well as be challenged. They should have the drive to serve but also to lead to get the best out of people. Finally candidates should be creative, helping our charities compete and win new business by bringing fresh ideas and entrepreneurial energy. Good Futures is actively seeking a diverse applicant pool where candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. We have planned for an application process which will accommodate a wide range of people, placing value on potential and ability rather than experience.
Placements available in: Suffolk, London, Coventry, Hemel Hempstead, Northampton and Colchester.
Closing Date: 1 October 2013
Interviews will be conducted during the first two weeks of October. Candidates will then be invited to an assessment style centre at the end of October. Successful candidates will be announced shortly after and the programme will begin November 2013.
