Job Title: Researcher
Working For: Conservatives for Liberty
Salary: Voluntary, flexible
Conservatives for Liberty is an independent think tank and campaign group aimed at promoting libertarian, socially liberal and free market ideas amongst Conservatives in the UK. We believe capitalism, individualism, low taxation and minimal state interference are conducive to the greatest freedom, happiness and prosperity of mankind and seek to promote these values through the Conservative party, media and wider public.
We are looking to recruit further researchers to increase the size of our policy unit. The role will involve producing research reports for publication through the Conservatives for Liberty website as well as for distribution to other media outlets and to Members of Parliament. The role is flexible in terms of workload but applicants should be able to commit to set deadlines for projects. Deadlines for each project can be worked out on a case by case basis.
The ideal candidates will have previous experience producing detailed research, will be motivated self-starters and be able to work to deadlines when required.
Candidates should be sympathetic to the aims of Conservatives for Liberty: we would like to recruit passionate libertarians.
The role being advertised is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours and responsibilities and you should be free to come and go as you wish. If the post demands set hours and/or has a specific job description you may be deemed to be a ‘worker’ and be covered by National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage legislation. See http://www.w4mp.org/jobs-listings-events/jobs/

To apply, please send a short covering email and copy of your CV (and a writing sample if possible) to firstname.lastname@example.org. It would also be useful to include an indication of policy areas and issues which interest you.
