Rehman Chishti’s Westminster office is seeking an enthusiastic, bright individual to work as an intern on a voluntary basis.

The successful candidate will have a keen interest in politics and current affairs and strong verbal and written communication skills.

The main responsibilities of the role will be:

• Conducting research and producing briefings
• Replying to general correspondence
• General administration (answering phones, filing, and opening the post).

This position will provide an excellent opportunity for candidates to further enhance their CVs and gain valuable political and office-based experience. The opportunity would suit a student, recent graduate or an individual who is looking to learn more about how Westminster works.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Interview/Start Dates

The position will commence on 18 November 2013 and finish on 18 February 2014 however, either party can end this at any time prior to 3 months.
