Office based (office is in Westminster) for half the day and voter ID work (either door to door or on the phone) for the other half.

This role is 40 hours per week (flexible, with weekend and evening working) and for a fixed term six month with the potential of further work thereafter.

The post holder will report direct to the candidate and work from the offices of their day job in central London.

The role would suit someone who is passionate about campaigning for Labour, is highly literate, personable, confident when canvassing on the phone or door to door, flexible, optimistic and positive. A candidate in the 2014 Elections also works a 60 hour week with extensive family commitments. In order that the candidate meets their obligations as a candidate, they are recruiting additional support for the forthcoming six month period starting as soon as possible.

The role includes

1. Canvassing and door knocking either alone or with the candidate for up to four hours of each a day either on the telephone or door to door
2. Improving the online presence of the candidate and fellow candidates and providing full social media support
3. Building and maintaining the candidate’s organisation and activity
4. Drafting correspondence to constituents in response to issues that they raise
5. Working with council candidate to produce leaflets
6. Working with the candidate to deliver leaflets to potential voters
7. Campaigning activity in the ward
8. Helping the candidate meet their candidate contract obligations
9. Voter i/d (doorstep and telephone), registration and postal votes
10. Organising events
11. Ensuring the candidate works seamlessly with other arms of the local Labour party
12. Building up ward membership and membership activity

The post holder will be expected to operate on a flexible basis, and to undertake such tasks as shall from time to time be determined.
