Job Details

The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills and attention to detail. The successful applicant will also be able to think quickly, work to tight deadlines and be confident in their political judgement. The successful applicant will be able to learn more about Parliament and the duties of an MP, through a flexible, part-time internship.

Key responsibilities:

Undertake research, on subjects including local, national and international issues.
Maintain and update the MP’s website, including writing blogs and updates on constituency and Parliamentary work.
Assist Office Manager to progress casework through liaison with local and national bodies and government agencies.
Liaise with constituents, other MPs' offices, national bodies, and members of the public.

Key skills:

Excellent communication skills; written and oral
Ability to synthesise large volumes of information quickly
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Knowledge of Parliament and UK politics
Strong academic credentials
Ability to work independently and to support a small team

It is desirable that candidates share the aims and values of the Conservative Party.
