The Welsh Liberal Democrat Group is seeking applications for the position of Head of Communications to lead the Communications team to maximise the impact of the Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Group in its communication with staff, Members and the wider public using the full range of communication tools as well as in broadcast, print and other media.
Main duties include:
- Developing, implementing and regularly reviewing the Group communication and media strategy;
- Advising the Leader, Assembly Group and staff on internal and external communication issues;
- To identify and explore opportunities to promote the work of the Welsh Liberal Democrat Group;
- To ensure full use of new media is made and that website, blog, social media, video, picture and email content are developed.
Essential criteria include:
- Experience of working effectively within the written press, broadcast or online industry, or public relations sector;
- Demonstrable experience of effective media handling techniques including designing and delivering a communications plan;
- Proven evidence of first class written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate the work of the group;
- Ability to work flexibly on own initiative to tight deadlines;
- Excellent organisation, planning and presentational skills.
