Steve Baker, MP for Wycombe, is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working intern to join his busy Westminster Office.

The part-time paid internship will last for 3 months and take place 2 days a week, usually on a Wednesday and Thursday. Working closely with Steve's Parliamentary Researcher, this challenging role offers you the opportunity to support the work of an MP in Westminster.

Responsibilities will include:
- Drafting responses to constituents’ enquiries.
- Assisting with the processing of constituents’ emails and letters.
- Attending meetings with the MP and Westminster staff.
- Assisting with day-to-day tasks such as filing and posting correspondence.

The successful candidate will have:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- An ability to work both independently and within a team.
- A meticulous attention to detail.
- A friendly and polite phone manner.
- An understanding of the issues affecting residents in the Wycombe constituency.
- Strong IT skills.
- A good sense of humour!

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
