Our client is a well-regarded and leading multi-discipline communications agency.

Role description

- Building demonstrably effective working relationships with MPs, Peers offices, national and specialist trade journalists
- Identifying reactive opportunities in the news agenda to secure coverage
- Drafting press releases, briefing notes and other materials
- Successfully selling in news stories to print and broadcast journalists
- Project managing events including press conferences, Parliamentary, stakeholder, media and new business events
- Providing public affairs monitoring reports
- Drafting early day motions and parliamentary questions
- Contributing creatively towards new business pitches, attending brainstorms

Who we're looking for

- Excellent knowledge of the UK healthcare sector and health policy
- Good understanding of the UK media environment across print, broadcast and digital channels. Understanding of the European and broader international landscape an advantage
- Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills
- Passion for news and/or politics and an understanding of their potential impact on business objectives
- Strong networking skills with key media, stakeholder and prospective new business clients
