Award-winning communications agency, Open Road (part of the Blue Rubicon family), is looking for a researcher who will support a range of its public affairs and corporate communications accounts. Our clients include Eurostar, Coca-Cola Great Britain, EngineeringUK, Prudential, National Grid, Asda and Airwave.

The role of researcher encompasses:

• Working across a range of sectors, updating all consultants on client-relevant political, current affairs, media and communications industry developments in the UK and the EU
• Producing papers and updates on policy issues, media developments, and stakeholder lists covering media, industry and consumer groups, government and regulators
• Preparing detailed new business research and reports for consultants
• Preparation of regular - daily or weekly - bespoke monitoring reports for relevant clients
• Participating in client business meetings and pitches where appropriate
• Assistance on client accounts across the board as required
• Main point of contact with key suppliers such as Randall’s and Gorkana
• Keeping abreast of the latest developments in corporate communications including in social media and digital communications
• Keeping abreast of supplier offerings

Main Criteria for the new researcher

• Strong interest in corporate communications, the media and political and current affairs
• Experience in a relevant role either in politics, Parliament, in-house or elsewhere
• Good working knowledge of UK political and media landscape
• Strong IT skills, Excel in particular
• Excellent writing skills, ability to produce reports and research digests to short timescales
• Attention to detail
• Hardworking and flexible attitude
• Ability to work well in a team
• Graduate
• Ability to manage interns who help with research
• Keen to learn and develop
