About us

Cohn & Wolfe Political Counsel is the new public affairs division of global communications firm Cohn & Wolfe. We have had a strong start to 2014 with a number of high profile UK client wins, as well as expanding our international client portfolio. We now have a vacancy for a full time Public Affairs Intern for a minimum of 3 months.

We are not your traditional public affairs team. We lead with our client’s issues whether they be focused on the demands of businesses, consumers or the political environment. We do not limit ourselves to stand-alone public affairs making sure we are essential reputation advisers alongside our consumer and corporate affairs divisions.

Our team is made up of smart, fast-paced consultants – and the ‘smart’ part is as important as the ‘fast-paced’ part. We look for people who can think on their feet and provide excellent advice but also get the work done quickly. If you can do that you will be happy at Cohn & Wolfe – a vibrant meritocratic environment where you can do as much as you’re capable of, as quickly as you are ready.

About you

You’ll have a strong passion for public affairs, having already had some experience working in the public affairs environment – be it working for an MP, a think tank or a public affairs agency. Solid written skills are essential within this role and also the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines.

We are looking for people with a natural ability and interest in researching and understanding complex/high profile issues. Spotting industry issues and understanding the public policy implications of these is a daily requirement for our clients and we would want any candidate to demonstrate a strong appetite for this alongside an enthusiasm for politics and the media.

Closing Date: 16 May 2014

Interview/Start Dates

The interview will consist of two stages:

  • Meeting with two members of the Political Counsel and a 30 minute written task.
  • Interview with a member of the Senior team.

Start date: immediately.
