The Children’s Society is a leading national charity. We work with the most disadvantaged children to ensure they are valued and listened to. Our network of programmes include drop-in services for runaways, children's centres and support for young carers. We support children who are refugees from violence, and we give those in care a voice. Our key themes are addressing child poverty and adolescent neglect. The policy and public affairs team works to give a voice to children and young people and influence policy and practice so they have a better chance in life.

This exciting opportunity at the heart of The Children’s Society’s Policy and Public Affairs team reports to the Head of Policy, you will provide expert advice both internally and externally on parliamentary and political matters affecting children and young people. You will use your specialist knowledge of politics, parliament and government to design and execute lobbying strategies in support of The Children’s Society’s mission and objectives.

The successful candidate will have senior level experience of creating and delivering influencing strategies, a comprehensive understanding of parliamentary and political process, strong organisational and team working skills and the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with a wide range of stakeholders internal and external, including with children and young people.
