The RBS SE100 Index aims to forge a better understanding of the businesses that are involved in socially enterprising activity across the UK.
Created by social innovation agency Matter&Co in partnership with RBS, the RBS SE100 Index re-launched in 2013 with a brand new web platform. The new website is a powerful source of market intelligence, and a valuable tool for individual organisations that are using an enterprise model to deliver their social mission, to help them manage and build success.
Work activities/responsibilities
1) Engagement with SE100 members (current and prospective)
• With support from the project manager, draw up a plan to target current and prospective social enterprise members to submit data
• Assist social enterprises in submitting their data via the SE100 site
• Telemarketing and e-marketing to current and prospective members
• Lead on social media to promote the Index and engage with members
• Liaise with members to build a bank of case studies
2) Research and due diligence for shortlisted organisations
3) Organising the annual awards event:
• Liaise with speakers and the Matter&Co team to arrange logistics and the programme for the evening
• Work with the design team to organise hand outs for the audience
• Commission and manage the production of the awards
• Invite a range of senior leaders to attend the awards event
• Encourage at least 50 SE100 Index members to attend Good Deals social investment conference for half price
Person specification
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to persuade (essential). Proven experience of telemarketing and/or building relationships with clients over the phone (desired)
• Excellent planning and organisational skills in order to manage a busy workload (essential)
• Basic level of financial literacy – understanding of turnover and profit/loss (essential)
• Enjoys a target driven environment (essential), with a proven record of working to set targets within strict deadlines (desired)
• Experience of running and/ or organising an event (desired)
• Proven experience of managing social media for marketing purposes (desired)
• Demonstrated knowledge and/or interest of social enterprise sector (desired)
Contract length: six month fixed-term contract, subject to review after one month’s probation, with possible extension to Dec 2014. Full-time role 37.5 hrs a week.
