Job Details

Working 2 days per week for Taunton Deane Liberal Democrats 

1. To coordinate and drive the identification, recruitment, training, development, motivation and retention of members and volunteers to mutually agreed targets.
2. To oversee the organisation of volunteers to deliver the constituency campaign plan.
3. To ensure the delivery of a programme of doorstep and telephone voter contact to mutually agreed targets.
4. To oversee the organisation, printing and delivery of publicity material. To oversee the artworking of local party and other literature as necessary. 
5. To ensure the delivery of an effective online campaign using the full range of e-campaigning tools.
6. To advise the line manager, as appropriate, on organisational, communication and/or maintenance priorities which may benefit the smooth running of the campaign.
7. To undertake such training as is recommended to develop and update required skills.

Working 3 days per week for Jeremy Browne MP

1. Carry out research into local, regional and international issues as required, ensuring the Member is made aware of any relevant issues.
2. Identify any issues to assist the Member in their parliamentary and constituency work. 
3. Respond effectively and courteously to routine correspondence and enquiries from constituents.
4. Undertake research, usually from readily available sources, on straightforward subjects.
5. Analyse and evaluate research and interpret data, ensuring key issues are identified.
6. Prepare, and present results both orally and in writing.
7. Provide briefings to Member on constituency matters.
8. Monitor coverage in the media.
9. Maintain and update website.
10. Progress casework through liaison with local and national bodies, government agencies, lobby groups, etc.
11. Ensure records are kept, with details of each issue by adhering to the Data Protection Act principles and respect the confidentiality of data at all times.
12. May develop knowledge in specialist areas as required by the Member.
13. Competent use of IT including Microsoft Office package, email and internet.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
