We currently have a vacancy for a Library Clerk in the House of Lords Library. This post is permanent.
The Library’s primary function is to support the parliamentary work of Members of the House. It provides politically impartial research and reference services, and advice about and access to printed and online resources, to the highest possible standards of quality and timeliness. In addition, it manages and safeguards the Library collections, comprising a wide range of online resources and some 60,000 printed titles, including special collections of national significance. The Library has a vacancy for an additional Library Clerk to increase the capacity of the research team.
The main objective of the role is to work as part of a team providing research services to Members; conducting background research and producing written and oral responses to enquiries from individual Members; and writing briefing papers on bills and other topics of current parliamentary interest.
