Whole Education is looking to recruit a Projects Assistant to provide a crucial support role for the organisation. The role will include generating and curating engaging content for our various platforms, supporting on planning and delivery of conferences and school-based events and providing general office support. Previous incumbents in this role have gone on to take other positions in the organisation.

About Whole Education

Established as a not-for-profit organisation in September 2009, we are in our fourth academic year of operation. In this time, a small and passionate team have worked to build a strong network of over 500 schools, including almost 100 Pathfinder schools and over 20 active partner organisations. Together we share the vision for all children to have access to an education that prepares them for learning, life and work.

Communications:

  • Researching, developing and writing summaries of relevant resources, think-pieces and research for our members’ platform
  • Collating snapshots of our schools (both data and information about their practice) to showcase on our website and members’ platform

Events:

  • Assisting with various elements of pre-event logistics including; managing bookings, assisting with producing materials for the event and liaising with speakers
  • Assisting at the event; welcoming delegates and attending sessions to gather content and snapshots of practice 
  • Assisting after the event; digesting feedback forms and updating our platforms with any content or resources

Office Management:

  • Managing the Director's diary
  • Booking meeting rooms and taking notes as required

Other:

  • Supporting on various other projects as they emerge (data collection or desk-based research for example)

Person specification

Essential:

  • At least 6-12 months' experience in a third sector or education organisation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of editing and writing copy for different platforms
  • Organised, thorough and a strong attention to detail
  • Able to work as part of a team but happy to sometimes work alone and manage own workload
  • An enthusiasm and willingness to muck in and help make things happen
  • An interest in education and policy

Desirable:

  • Interest in social media as a communication tool
  • Experience of project management, ideally through organising events
