Responsibilities

Westminster Search are working exclusively with a leading independent consultancy who wish to recruit a Senior Account Executive to play a significant role on major accounts, focusing on the healthcare sector.

This is a key role and the successful candidate will help manage client accounts, develop client relationships and deliver public affairs programmes. The candidate will also help identify and develop new business opportunities.

Background

The successful candidate will have experience of public affairs consultancy, including work with clients in the pharmaceutical industry.

He or She will be able to demonstrate a firm commitment to excellence in developing and maintaining client relationships.

The successful candidate will have strong commercial awareness and be able to show evidence of work which helped senior management to secure new business.

The Candidate

Essential

• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject
• A minimum of 18 months’ experience in a consultancy
• Ability to work well within a team and under pressure
• A knowledge of the political processes in the UK
• A basic knowledge of the workings of NICE and SMC.
Desirable
• Experience of Parliament, Civil Service, NGOs or other policy-making bodies
• A knowledge of the political processes in the European Union
• Experience of the pharmaceuticals approval process and working to the ABPI code.

• A self-starter able to hit the ground running, using initiative when necessary
• The ability to understand, digest and explain complex information quickly and effectively
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate with a range of decision-makers including senior corporate personnel
• The ability to network and establish positive relationships with political contacts and potential new clients
• The ability to work and thrive within a small, high-performing team
• Strong verbal and written presentation skills with IT capabilities to match
• The ability to manage and prioritise own workload and supervise the workload of junior team members
