We require an intelligent and motivated individual to work for the Scottish Conservative MSP Group in the Scottish Parliament as part of their research team. This is a short-term contract that will end in late September with the successful applicant starting as soon as possible.

Duties will include:

- Producing policy briefings for MSPs.
- Providing background material for parliamentary debates.
- Assisting with speechwriting as required.
- Assisting with drafting articles for publication, parliamentary motions and questions and legislative amendments.
- Analysing publications on policy issues.

Candidates are expected to have:

- Education to a degree level with a 2:1 classification or better.
- Political judgement.
- Excellent written and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo standard Scottish Parliament security checks.
