The Assembly Member for Monmouth is looking to appoint an experienced Researcher to work in their Assembly office.
Main duties include:
- Carry out research into local, regional, national and international issues as required
- Develop knowledge on areas associated with the Assembly Member’s portfolio
- Maintain a filing system, associating previous papers with current correspondence, and extracting documents on request
- Draft speeches, briefing notes and any other documents as required by the Assembly Member
- Draft oral/written questions
Essential criteria include:
- Experience of working effectively within a political environment
- Ability to write speeches, press notices and briefings
- Ability to work on own initiative to tight deadlines, with the ability to work flexibly and juggle a range of tasks
