DeHavilland, the leading UK parliamentary monitoring and political research service, is seeking experienced freelance writers to attend the Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat party conferences this autumn.

Working alongside the Editorial team, you will provide clear and concise written reports of fringe events (2-3 per day).

You will need:

  • Previous editorial experience, covering events and providing reports
  • An excellent eye for detail and a high standard of written English
  • To be willing to adhere to a strict house writing style
  • A strong interest in politics/journalism
  • Experience working to tight deadlines

You will not require a conference pass. However, if you have applied for one already, please refer to this in your application.

Please note: you will need to make all of your own travel and accommodation arrangements.

Closing Date: 11 August 2014

Interview/Start Dates

Successful applicants will be notified by the end of August.

The Labour Party Conference is in Manchester, 21 - 24 September.

The Conservative Party Conference is in Birmingham, 28 September - 1 October.

The Liberal Democrat Party Conference is in Glasgow, 4 - 8 October.
